SUSTAINABILITY
"IN ALL PARTS OF LIFE, WE’RE TRYING TO BE MORE AWARE AND MINDFUL OF WHAT WE CONSUME & HOW WE GO ABOUT EACH DAY. WE TAKE OUR IMPACT SERIOUSLY."
— DANIELLA DRAPER
POSITIVE LUXURY
The Butterfly Mark is a globally recognised symbol of trust, earned by luxury brands striving for positive change.
We were incredibly proud to achieve accreditation with Positive Luxury in October 2020 and be awarded the prestigious Butterfly Mark, having undertaken a comprehensive ESG+ assessment to demonstrate our commitment to building a sustainable future through our business practices.
The Butterfly Mark symbolises that we are part of a global movement working to transform the luxury landscape. We are committed to achieving higher and higher standards for our people and planet, now and in the future.
NOW
GREEN ENERGY
All our stores are powered by green energy suppliers and our HQ has solar panels to supply power to our workshop and offices.
TREE PLANTING & CARBON OFFSETTING
To date, we have offset over 1000 tonnes of carbon which is equivalent to saving approximately 3000 metres squared of sea ice from melting. Through our partnership with Ecologi, we have planted in excess of 15,500 trees and have supported over 16 climate projects around the world.
ECO DELIVERY PARTNERS
We carefully chose our delivery partners because of their green credentials. All Daniella Draper deliveries undertaken by DPD in the UK are 100% carbon compensated and DHL were the first logistics company to commit to a zero emissions target.
ETHICAL SUPPLY CHAIN
All our suppliers are verified by accrediting bodies designed to audit their ways of working and we opt for materials that come with documentation to show their origin.
All our metal suppliers are certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council and we source our gold from suppliers licenced to supply Fairtrade precious metals with chain of custody certification.
Our coloured gemstone suppliers are members of the International Coloured Gemstone Association, with our primary supplier being an Accredited Ethical Member.
All our diamond suppliers work within the parameters of the Kimberly Process and World Diamond Council System of Warranties, and we are also transitioning to using exclusively GIA certified diamonds and lab grown
diamonds in our bespoke commissions to verify their provenance.
We have started to source Aquamarines from Zimbaqua, the world’s first sustainable mine empowering women in rural communities through mining.
CIRCULARITY
We challenge ourselves to take a circular approach to the materials we use, which is why all of our jewellery is made from recycled materials. We seriously consider the entire lifecycle of a piece of jewellery or packaging and encourage circularity as a vital concept for life on our changing planet.
COMMUNITY
As a business Daniella Draper is very grateful to the communities we work within for all their support. In an effort to give back we have supported a number of UK charities and have asked each of our stores to nominate a local charity to support.

FUTURE
CARBON FOOTPRINT
We have signed up to the SME Climate Hub to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by 50% before 2030 and have pledged to become net zero by 2050.
We completed our first carbon calculation in 2022 to better understand the steps we can take to reduce our impact. We are planning to work with Climate Partner in 2024 to offset all our emissions and become carbon neutral.
TRANSPARENCY
The stones used in our jewellery are sourced from trusted suppliers, but we are always looking for new sources who can offer better transparency.

OUR PACKAGING
RECYCLABLE GIFT WRAPPING
All our jewellery comes in plastic free packaging and our bags are made using recyclable, responsibly sourced paper from well managed forests. Our jewellery pouches are crafted from a strong cotton and are designed to be reused for jewellery storage.
We are also currently resourcing our packaging to be made from recycled materials and are opting for a more streamlined design to limit our material usage.
ECO PACKAGING
We promote an eco-packaging option in store and online to reduce the volume of packaging we use. In 2022, this resulted in a saving of 1.49 tonnes of packaging.
