BANGLE QUOTE

Always make sure that you're happy.

WHY?

A comedian pal of mine, John Kearns gave me some advice when it comes to writing/performing comedy. 'Always make sure that you're happy when you're on stage' and it changed the way I write and perform. I also employ that in life when working on projects and and in general life. If you're not happy doing something, don't do it.

LATEST PROJECT?

Well I've just finished an exciting project in Ireland which should be out in the autumn and I'm just finishing up on Soccer AM for the season, so now I'm working on my next stand up show which I'll be touring round the UK in 2019. At the moment it's all about coming up with the title/idea behind the show and then writing jokes around that idea. Hopefully.

BUCKET LIST

Sing the National Anthem at Wembley Stadium. Play in goal at Old Trafford. Play the piano (even though I have a degree in music). Own a fire engine. Visit every cathedral in England.

THEME TUNE?

Grimsby by Elton John

BEST EXPERIENCE?

Probably a tie between playing at Wembley Arena where I supported Jack Whitehall on tour and playing at Blundell Park with Grimsby Town legends. I barely managed to support myself that night.

FAVOURITE CITY AND WHY?

London. I live in London and I'm always totally in awe of everything it has to offer. The history of the city is insane and when I'm scootering round the city I'm just stunned by the incredible historic architecture. The book 'London' by Peter Ackroyd is the best place to start to know just a slither about London. Also, it has about 5 cathedrals.

THREE PIECES OF ADVICE YOU WOULD GIVE YOUR YOUNGER SELF?

Revise loads at school. Do lots of stuff outside of school. Be nice to your parents.

SPORT?

Football. I absolutely love football which is weird because I was truly awful at is as a kid, but got 'better' as the years went on

HERO?

My Mum. Sounds proper slushy but she's the reason why I'm doing what I'm doing today. If I can't have my Mum as a hero I'll go for Mick Hucknall - what a voice.

MOST INSPIRING PERSON YOU'VE EVER MET AND WHY?

My late Godfather Geoffrey Wood. He was amazing at everything. He used to race rally cars, play squash at county level, play table tennis at national level. His house was filled with trophies from various events that he'd won in so many sports. He died when he was 75 and weeks before he passed away he used to cycle 30-40 miles a day and do weight training in his gym. He built his own house and was the kindest man you'd ever meet.

BRAVEST / SCARIEST THING YOU HAVE EVER DONE?

Probably giving up my job with a salary and a pension to do comedy full time.

HOME TOWN?

Grimsby. (Gy till I die etc etc)

FAVOURITE PALCE TO FEEL INSPIRED AND WHY?

Devon. I went to university down in Exeter and I absolutely loved it. I often go down there to write and get away from the intensity of London. Be it in Exeter itself, or heading down to the coast, it's all truly dreamy. Reminds me of home, only with sun, and a sea you can swim in.

DREAM PROJECT

I would love on day to have my own choral music show on Classic FM. It's my favourite genre of music and could listen to it all day and would love the opportunity to get more people listening to it.

FAVOURITE INSTAGRAM AND WHY?

@cathedralgram. Because I love Cathedrals so this account it essentially like porn for me.
